The Brief

After helping countless indie devs successfully market their games, I decided to put my own expertise to the test. Could I lead the design of my own game optimized for virality and achieve a hit in the shortest time possible? The answer was DON’T SCREAM, a 5-month passion project with a unique hook: if you scream, you restart!

Announced on Friday, October 13th, DON’T SCREAM quickly gained momentum, racking up over 125,000 wishlists in just two weeks before its Halloween launch.

The strategic launch, combined with organic excitement and a wave of streamer interest, resulted in over 100,000 copies sold in less than a week. This showcases that sometimes a strong hook and strategic timing can lead to success and that you don’t always necessarily need years of development or huge budgets to make a viral game. I’m incredibly proud of the results.
